Our philosophy with Brower Ranch Arabians is to produce horses that are typically suited to ranch work.  This means that we breed horses with the ability to handle themselves, both mentally and physically. Horses that are  intelligent and athletic, willing work hard and keep their cool under pressure.

We breed horses with a good heart girth, powerful hips, good legs and solid muscles, while maintaining the Arabian Breed Type.  Our horses can spin on their hindquarters, get down to head a cow, jump out of a rollback with power and speed, then quickly settle and relax when the job is done.

We use our horses throughout the year in the Wyoming mountains.  They are working ranch horses.  Herding, branding, roping and cutting cattle are routine tasks. They also play with us.  We go on pleasure trail rides when we can find the time away from work.  Our horses are ridden by people of all ages, small children through senior citizens.

Our herd sire is Surprise Free, a.k.a. Jet.  Jet is John's primary horse on the ranch.  They do everything, from roping, to cutting, to trailing cattle. Our foundation mares are from Rushcreek Land and Livestock in Lisco, Nebraska.  Rushcreek horses have proven themselves as stock horses and in endurance racing.  Jet's foals from the Rushcreek Mares are willing and sensible and can get down on their hindquarters to turn naturally.  We focus our breeding program on smoothness, not action.  You can ride our horses over rough ground easily for long hours and stay comfortable in the saddle.

Check out our 2007 filly, BRA Secret Surprise.  We have a second filly and a black colt, all sired by our herd sire, Surprise Free.

We have recently purchased Shalimar Chisholm (49.9% Skowronek) as an outcross for our *Witez II program.  We will be using Chisholm on our Jet daughters in 2008.

BRA SURPRISE ELY 618183 (July 23, 2004) Grey Gelding.
Ely, a son of Surprise Free and Rushcreek Ilona, is a beautiful example of our breeding program.  He is easy to be around, pleasant and wanting to please.
Ely is fast!  He is the fastest among his peers and he loves to instigate running games with the others.  In this group, he is neither the top or the bottom of the pecking order.
Ely has a full brother and a half brother (same dam).  His half brother sold for $5,000 as a started three-year-old to a 4-H family.  His full brother and Ben's (BRA Surprise Benefit) full brother both sold to the same family as trail riding and stock horses.
Ely is very smooth.  He is easy to catch, picks up his feet.  He has his 4-Way shot.  He is on a regular worming program.
Ely has correct conformation and is very smooth moving.  He will be one of those horses that will be easy on the rider.  He also has an interesting spotted front leg, from slightly above the fetlock down.   Ely is started under saddle and is ready to finish and go to work.
